Writing
I have always had a passion for storytelling. I enjoy writing both fiction and non-fiction, and have found it to be a useful tool for managing my mental health, science communication and advocacy. Below are some links to examples of my writing.
I Am Your Father
I've also written a series of blog posts about becoming a father during lockdown called I Am Your Father. Because of the nature of that blog, the topic of mental health comes up often.
Writing and Mental Health
I have found that writing can be a really powerful tool for processing and managing my thoughts and emotions.
I have written a series of blog posts (Let's Talk About...) on the subject, as well as the post below on how I use writing as a therapeutic tool.
I also write stories based on my experiences with mental health. The short story below was shortlisted in a competition by Mind, the mental health charity.
All of these posts and more can be found in the mental health category on the blog.
Other Blog Posts
In addition to this blog, I have written various posts for some of my research partners, including:
- The CESI Research Project
- The Society of Research Software Engineering
- The Software Sustainability Institute
- The Newcastle University RSE Team
